"Phew, they're finally gone."

Nicole let out a long sigh as she watched the two leave.

Even though they had become so-called friends and taken a group photo...

Having someone from the grey zone like the Cunning Hares sit down with elites from the official forces was still a huge source of stress.

"Scared now, Nicole?" Sol teased. "You sure were bold when you asked for that photo."

"That's different! After all that food, if I didn't get something in return, I'd be taking a huge loss!" Nicole snapped, arms akimbo.

A single meal costing nearly 100,000 Dennies—if she didn't get something out of it, she'd be haunted for a week.

Thinking back on the day, Nicole couldn't help but sigh. "You know, it really is strange... We actually had dinner with a Void Hunter."

"So what? When I become a Void Hunter, we'll be eating together every day." Sol's mouth curled into a mischievous grin. "And if you'd like, the future Void Hunter can also offer overnight companionship services—absolutely free, not even one Denny."

"Get lost! Even if you paid me in Denny, I'd say no!" Nicole barked back. "Why don't you ask Anby instead?!"

"Anby, you interested?"

Sol turned to Anby without missing a beat.

You seriously asked!?

Nicole stared at Sol, momentarily stunned and silently grinding her teeth.

This guy was infuriating. Couldn't he tell she was mad?

She wanted nothing more than to stomp his face into the floor and grind it back and forth.

But she didn't move. She knew Sol was teasing her—she couldn't show weakness.

Nicole tried to keep her expression calm, but her ears stood up straight, carefully listening in on Anby and Sol's exchange.

"Thank you, but I'm not a child. I can sleep alone."

Anby declined calmly.

Sol glanced at the quietly fuming Nicole. "It's because you're an adult that you should sleep with someone—that's a special bond between grown-ups."

Once someone became an adult, there were certain things they had to understand.

His Anby was so innocent. He had to make sure she didn't get taken in by some creepy weirdo.

"Is that so?"

Anby looked thoughtful, her delicate face contemplative.

Creaaaak, creaaak~

Nicole's teeth ground loudly. Her fists were trembling with restraint.

"..." Sol had been ready to drop another joke, but seeing Nicole starting to heat up, he quickly backed off. "Ahem, just kidding."

Nicole in red-alert mode was fun—getting punched by Nicole was not.

"Oh."

Anby nodded slowly, deep in thought.

Nicole shot Sol a vicious glare, muttering in her head: You're lucky you stopped in time.

Anby, seeing nothing more was going on, sat on the sofa and turned on a movie to watch before bed.

"Boss Su, if they're not up for it... what about just the two of us?" Billy sidled up to Sol, voice dripping with mischief. "I saw your shooting technique—it's amazing. How about we discuss gunplay tonight?"

As he spoke, Billy shaped his hands into finger guns and made pew pew pew noises.

"Uh..." Watching Billy mime shooting, Sol felt a shiver and rejected it instantly. "Let's save that for daytime. I don't like talking shop at night."

He was a serious man. No talking work at night—only pleasure.

Sure, Billy was Billy. Billy King was someone else. And Billy was a robot.

But if they were gonna sleep in the same room, Sol still couldn't help but worry about things like... blooming chrysanthemums and chaotic plungers. Respect the genre of horror rules.

"That's a real shame."

Billy gave Sol a slightly disappointed look.

He'd been hoping for a deep, thrilling discussion on shooting techniques—but Sol wasn't biting.

"Anyway, forget that—this movie's getting to the good part. Can't miss it!"

Sol dashed over to the sofa and plopped down next to Anby, seriously watching the film.

"So, you do get scared sometimes!"

Nicole laughed at the sight of Sol fleeing the conversation, her earlier frustration quickly melting away.

She walked lightly to the sofa and joined them for the movie.

It was one of Anby's favorite food films, filled with a dazzling array of delicious dishes.

As Nicole watched, she couldn't help but think back to tonight's dinner.

The dishes had been amazing in both taste and quantity—it should've been a feast for the ages.

But under the onslaught of that blue-haired loli, she hadn't even gotten full before everything was gone.

"Thank goodness I got that photo... otherwise I'd be seriously shortchanged."

Nicole rubbed her still-flat stomach and muttered to herself.

"..."

Sol glanced at her, thoughtful.

Then he got up from the sofa and quietly left the house shared with the Cunning Hares.

Nicole and Anby didn't pay it much mind—probably just assumed Sol was turning in for the night.

It was the neighboring unit he'd just rented—three bedrooms, one living room, fully furnished and ready to move in.

Nicole had originally worried about the Denny cost—but with Sol's wealth, she could only accept it.

Moments later, Sol returned carrying two paper bags, handing one to each of them.

"Didn't get full earlier? Have a little more."

He smiled as he spoke.

If Nicole hadn't eaten her fill, then Anby—who had an even bigger appetite—definitely hadn't either.

After all, they'd only had breakfast today and were physically active all day. Eating another one or two portions was perfectly normal.

Anby opened the bag. The rich aroma of a giant beef burger wafted out, along with a side of onion rings, two egg tarts, and a cup of iced cola.

A small smile crept across her normally expressionless face. "It's a burger meal. Thank you."

"You're welcome."

Sol reached out and gently patted Anby's white hair as payment.

Maybe it was the burger, or maybe it was because he only touched her briefly, but Anby just shook her head slightly and said nothing.

"It's so late—where'd you even buy this?"

Nicole's meal was identical to Anby's.

She didn't dig in right away. Instead, she asked shyly.

"I've got my own channels. It's a secret." Sol grinned mysteriously, then let out a yawn. "Long day. Eat up and rest early—I'm off to bed."

With that, he left Cunning Hares and went to his place to sleep.

"Tch. It's just a burger—what's with the 'secret channel' act?"

Nicole scoffed at his retreating figure.

Then she took a big bite of the burger—the flavor of the bun, vegetables, beef, and cheese exploding in her mouth.

Seriously... infuriating one moment, sweet the next. You never play by the rules.

And then that little head-pat to Anby—too cunning.

If she was the rabbit, then Sol was the sly fox.

She knew it was a trick—and still couldn't help being touched.

Sigh... totally lost to him.

Nicole glanced over at Anby, who was happily munching away on her burger.

After thinking for a moment, she got up and went to the kitchen, cutting her own burger in half—and giving Anby the other half.

She ruffled Anby's hair with a sigh. "You two really are a handful."

"Mm. You eat too."

Anby accepted the half-burger, handing over her two egg tarts in return.

The two sat side by side on the sofa, finishing the movie before heading off to bed.
