CHAPTER 255: CHAPTER 255: SECRETS

Even though Ivy had escaped the claws of Ravencroft and had enough food to eat, her weight was abnormally low. It was because of Silas’s constant feeding that Ivy gained some weight.

However, even then, her weight was not more than 90 pounds. It distressed Silas so much that he even prepared a diet chart for her.

Yet when he saw how easily Ember was able to scoop Ivy away, his mind started to churn; a thought appeared in his mind.

’Ivy is so thin. That won’t do! I need to feed her more. And Ember... what was the guy’s name Ivy had told... Jay. Correct. I need to set this guy named Jay and Ember up quickly.’

Unaware of the schemes going on in her brother-in-law’s mind, Ember carried Ivy away. Before the apocalypse hit, Ember was planning to become a gym instructor and had almost opened her own gym.

Yet her muscles were hardly visible. It caused others to misunderstand Ember’s strength, causing many people to get beaten up.

Now carrying her frail sister, Ember’s heartache terribly. Having done weightlifting, she had a basic idea of weights.

She was ready to bet that her sister doesn’t even weigh 91 pounds!

Ivy didn’t dare to struggle and only watched with a dumbfounded expression as her handsome sister... yup, not beautiful! Handsome sister carried her like she weighed nothing more than a bag of feathers and softly placed her on the seat where she (Ember) was sitting.

Before she could react, Helena hugged Ivy and sobbed.

"Child, we will always stay by your side. And Silas is right; once we know all the danger and still remain by your side, then no one... no one can blame you! Even yourself!"

"Mom is right. We are not going to leave you. Neither in the face of death nor if someone tries to steal you away!" Felix said protectively while throwing a provocative glance in Silas’s direction.

’Childish. Once your sister is all alone, I will make sure she can’t think about you at all!’ Silas rolled his eyes and turned his focus to Ivy.

"So stop blaming yourself..." Kael drawled, his purple eyes glancing at Ivy with intensity, "You were never guilty of any death, and none of them were caused by you."

Ivy closed her eyes and hugged her warm mother.

’It had been such a long time since I hugged my mother like this.’ She thought about this and snuggled closer to Helena, which made Helena feel thrilled.

Her daughter’s dependence on her delighted her endlessly!

Just then, Felix and Ember hugged Ivy, while Victor, too, walked up to them and hugged them wordlessly.

Kael, with an utter seriousness, joined them too.

The scene was heartwarming and beautiful, but for Silas, it was an eyesore.

’I am genuinely happy for my wife, but do I really have to compete with five other people for her attention now? Sigh... why is my life so difficult!’

Felix enjoyed the trace of defeat on Silas’s face and smirked.

Finally, as everyone retreated, Ivy wiped away her tears, and Ember, with a huge smile, handed her a tissue.

Kael silently went to fetch a glass of water for her, while Felix left the house for good for 4 minutes before returning with an ice pack.

"Sister, apply this on your eyes; you will feel better."

Ivy smiled helplessly while she took the ice pack and the glass of water handed to her.

Ember calmly pushed away her brother and held Ivy’s hand with curiosity, "Ivy... do you have any more secrets that you want to tell us?"

She meant about the previous life; however, Ivy thought about her superpower and, without hesitation, waved her hand.

The next second, all the Nightbane family members and Silas appeared in the bright temporal storage.

The lush green soft grass, gentle breeze grazing past them, and endless sky covered by clouds appeared in Nightbane’s view. For a moment, none of them could even speak.

Ember gaped at the sight, and before she could ask anything, Felix yelled, "Holy shit, what is this place?"

"Is it the legendary space? Did you hoard a lot of food? Were you reborn before the apocalypse and hoarded like the female leads of the book?" Ember’s eyes sparkled with delight, and she asked Ivy questions one by one.

She loved apocalyptic novels, especially where the female lead is given the time to hoard food, and she leads her family to live a good life.

"No." Ivy’s words were like cold water being poured on Ember’s blazing heart. "This is not a space. It’s a Temporal Storage. In this life, instead of that ring... I acquired a necklace, and it helped me to store items."

She paused when she felt the heated gazes of all her beloved people, though her eyes were burning from crying too much; however, she couldn’t move her eyes away from the curious stares.

Amusement danced in her eyes as she explained, "When I was reborn, the apocalypse had already descended, but I was able to awaken a unique power."

At her words, Ember’s eyes flickered with interest, and she asked, "What is it?"

"I can pick up supplies from the ground, and they will materialize." Ivy paused when she saw confusion spread over their face and explained, "It triggers on its own, and I get limited time to pick up the supplies. They are scattered across the ground, and each item is a single item with varieties. Like salt. There will be a variety of salt, like black, white, kosher, sea, etc. But other than salt in that batch, there won’t be any other items like sugar, etc."

After finishing her explanation, Ivy waited for the questions of her family and Silas, but all she saw was... shock and disbelief written on their faces.
