CHAPTER 68: CHAPTER 68: PASSION

Henry never knew his luck could be so bad. Due to the apocalypse, there were many cars left on the road, often causing jams.

On his left were rows of cars left by their owners, in front were a few cars ahead who were stuck in a traffic jam too, while behind were the cars waiting for his own car to move ahead.

It would be better to say that their car was in the middle of a sea of cars.

Only on the right side were fewer cars; however, it just happened that the space between two cars on his right was enough for a car smaller than theirs to crash in.

And just their luck... a car indeed seemed to rush in their direction. Most likely, the car’s brakes had failed.

Henry had an inkling. As long as the car rushing toward them crashes into their car, one of them will die for sure.

His brain acted faster than his mind, and he steered the wheel, ready to face all the impact while reducing the danger for the people in the backseat.

He wasn’t a selfless person, but compared to his life, he knew Silas’s life was worth more. Not to mention, Ivy was Silas’s sweetheart, so he couldn’t hurt her either.

He only hoped that he wouldn’t die or become disabled.

With widened eyes, he waited for the impending death, remembering his loved one.

"Henry! What the f*ck are you doing? Turn the car around!" How can Silas not see what Henry was planning, but Henry only smiled ruefully?

"Captain, you are the best captain I’ve ever had. If there is a next lifetime, I would again become your subordinate and friend..."

Silas’ eyes turned red from anger, and he tried to take control, but it was too late, and he was too far away from the steering wheel.

Henry closed his eyes and thought, ’Here it comes.’

He waited and waited, but nothing happened. Not the harsh agonizing pain he was expecting, nor the feeling of weightlessness.

’Hm? Did the car hit so hard that my soul directly leave my body? Wow.’

Clack. Clack. The sound of door opening echoed in his ears.

Slap. A sharp pain on his head stunned him, and he wondered if the car had taken shape into a human to hit him.

"How dare you disobey my orders!" Silas’s furious voice pushed Henry to open his eyes. He looked at Silas with confusion and asked,

"Eh? Captain? I am alive?"

He then looked at his surroundings and was confused, "Where are we? Hell? Captain, you are truly amazing, you can even chase to hell."

His voice sounded a bit choked as he hugged Silas, "You proved to me how you love me more than Ivy. I love you, too."

Silas: "( – ⌓ – ) Forget it. His IQ is low. I won’t argue with him.

Fog clouded the car, while the temperature was slightly cold. Cool breeze brushed past him, making him relax for an unknown reason.

Without hesitation, he pushed Henry and turned toward Ivy. He had seen Ivy waving her hand and wondered if she was the reason why they survived.

Seeing her dazed expression, his heart skipped a beat. Just now, his anger had rushed to his brain, and he forgot about important matters.

"Ivy? What happened?" In a swift motion, he took Ivy from the backseat and checked her. He was worried that she might have taken some drastic measures to save them.

Patting her cheeks worriedly, he finally gained her attention and heaved a sigh of relief.

But his relief was temporary; the next second, Ivy held Silas’s cheeks and crashed her lips with his.

Silas’s eyes widened the moment Ivy’s lips met his, but her soft warmth, the heat of her breath, and the sudden intimacy stunned him speechless.

Her kiss wasn’t timid; it was fierce, desperate, and raw, like a firestorm ripping through his senses.

Her fingers curled into his hair as she deepened the kiss, pulling him closer with a need that made his heart thump wildly.

For a second, Silas froze, caught between the whirlwind of emotions and the reality they’d just survived. But then instinct took over.

His arms wrapped around her waist, crushing her to him as he responded with equal intensity.

Their mouths moved in sync, hungry and unrestrained.

Ivy tilted her head, letting their lips fit better, and her tongue slid against his, demanding more.

Silas groaned softly into the kiss, the sound low and guttural, as his hand ran up the curve of her back.

The chaos of the world outside blurred into nothing.

In that moment, there was no apocalypse, no looming danger, only the two of them and the undeniable spark that had now exploded into a blazing fire.

Ivy’s breath hitched when Silas bit her lower lip gently, tugging it before pulling her in again, their kiss turning even deeper, hot, wet, and breathless.

His hand tangled in her hair while hers gripped the front of his shirt tightly, as if letting go would end the world.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, they pulled apart, gasping for air, their foreheads resting against each other.

"Don’t leave me. I won’t be able to live without you." Ivy said in a choked voice, making Silas freeze.

He looked at Ivy, and his heart tightened when his eyes crashed into Ivy’s beautiful pink eyes, now filled with sorrow and guilt.

"I won’t." He whispered, however, Ivy seemed oblivious to his promise, and continued to rant,

"I am scared. Don’t leave me, okay? I will listen to you. Silas, please talk with me..."

Silas frowned, realizing something was amiss with her.

Pulling away, he saw her dazed state, and he thought maybe the scene scared.

Sitting beside her, he pulled her onto his lap, letting her lean on his chest, as he secured her with a tight grip on her waist.

His other hand caressed her cheeks, and he said softly, "Don’t worry, I am here. See. I won’t go anywhere."
