Chapter 1014 - 1011: Farewell
CHAPTER 1014: CHAPTER 1011: FAREWELL
"Did Sister come to Yunxiang Inn to wait for me just to tell me these things? Or to comfort me?" Lin Tian casually asked, setting aside the issue of his identity.
"It’s not that I wanted to tell you; it’s because you asked me about fortune-telling first. Also, do you even need comfort?" Zi Yan said, giving Lin Tian a flirtatious look.
"Who said I don’t need comfort? Sister, stay tonight to soothe my wounded soul." Lin Tian said, pretending to be sorrowful.
Zi Yan smiled charmingly and said, "What a pity, Sister is leaving today. I came to say goodbye to you."
"What, Sister, you’re leaving?" Lin Tian exclaimed, dropping his act of being sad.
"It’s only a matter of time before Mr. Yun’s legs heal. Master staying here has no purpose anymore. Since Master is leaving, I’m naturally leaving too. Am I supposed to live with the Yun Family for a long time?" Zi Yan said matter-of-factly.
"I don’t want Sister to leave." Lin Tian said bluntly.
Zi Yan covered her mouth and smiled, saying, "I don’t want to leave you either, my brother. What should we do?"
"Then let’s have a farewell hug." Lin Tian said, stepping forward without waiting for Zi Yan’s consent, and pulled her into his arms.
Lin Tian braced himself to be pushed away, but surprisingly, Zi Yan offered no resistance, letting him hold her, which really surprised him. Although she appeared to be flirtatious and charming, it was nearly impossible to take advantage of her; even holding hands was not allowed. She was truly a sly little elf.
However, since Sister was being so generous today, Lin Tian saw no reason to dawdle. He tightened his hold on Zi Yan, feeling the soft and slender waist, the faint fragrance—it was truly captivating, and Lin Tian was reluctant to let go.
"Thank you, Sister," Lin Tian suddenly said in Zi Yan’s ear, catching her by surprise before she smiled.
Lin Tian knew, Zi Yan wasn’t unaware of how to comfort; she simply had a unique way. A hug was far more effective than any comforting words. Of course, Zi Yan had seen through the little thoughts in Lin Tian’s mind, and for her, this was her very first hug with a man.
"Aren’t you going to let me go, or else I can’t breathe?" Zi Yan protested, patting Lin Tian’s back.
Lin Tian released Zi Yan, stepped back, and smiled, "Can’t breathe? I can help Sister with artificial respiration."
"Dream on! Go do artificial respiration with your Miss." Zi Yan said, rolling her eyes at him.
"Sister, when you leave, will you stay in Jinghua City? Are the flagship store issues all resolved? Has Zhao Ya recovered?" Lin Tian asked multiple questions in a row.
Zi Yan replied helplessly, "With my brother’s involvement, the problems were naturally solved. As for Zhao Ya, with Sister’s help, how could there be any issues? But, I heard from the manager at the store that a beauty named Shen Anni comes looking for a ’Lin Tian’ consultant every now and then. Maybe she’s looking for you? Should I give her your contact details?"
"What? Shen Anni?" Lin Tian was startled, thinking of that alluring and bold woman, quickly saying, "Sister, please don’t betray me. If she gets my phone number, I won’t have a peaceful day."
"Haha, Sister is teasing you. If Shen Anni wants to pursue you, she’s not in the running. Alright, Sister is leaving. Go do whatever you need to do." Zi Yan laughed and then gracefully turned to leave.
That graceful figure looked so familiar—Lin Tian was stunned, reminding him somewhat of his father’s demeanor. At least Zi Yan promised not to betray him to Shen Anni, providing a sense of relief.
"Sister, take good care of Kikuchi Mika," Lin Tian called out to Zi Yan’s departing figure. Zi Yan waved without turning around, agreeing to Lin Tian’s request.
In reality, Lin Tian didn’t need to remind, he already knew Sister wouldn’t mistreat Kikuchi Mika. Watching Zi Yan’s departing figure, there was a faint hint of the sorrow of farewell—he didn’t know when they’d meet again.
Lin Tian turned around and saw An Xiaoru standing at the kitchen door, her face slightly flushed.
"Miss Xiao Ru, you saw everything?" Lin Tian referred to the hug with Zi Yan.
An Xiaoru nodded, softly saying, "Sister Zi Yan is leaving; is Mr. Lin also leaving?" The young girl seemed a bit down.
"Probably soon. Once Mr. Yun’s feet are healed, I have no reason to stay anymore. There’s no everlasting banquet under the heavens—leaving is inevitable." Lin Tian said to An Xiaoru, feeling a bit reluctant after spending so much time with her.
An Xiaoru lowered her head without speaking, her mood a bit low. Lin Tian couldn’t bear it, and chuckled softly, "Miss Xiao Ru, I’m friends with your Young Master Yun. When I visit the Yun Family in the future, I’ll have him arrange for you to host me. You wouldn’t mind, would you?"
"Will you come to the Yun Family?" An Xiaoru raised her head, looking at Lin Tian.
"Of course, do you think it’s ancient times with difficult transportation? Nowadays it’s so developed; visiting the Yun Family is just a quick nap away." Lin Tian chuckled.
An Xiaoru’s eyes brightened, and she smiled, "Mr. Lin is right. It’s been so long since I’ve traveled far, almost forgot."
"I’m hungry now. Is Miss Xiao Ru’s dinner ready?" Lin Tian pointed at the kitchen.
"Nearly forgot, I’m still cooking!" An Xiaoru realized, giving Lin Tian an apologetic smile before quickly returning to the kitchen.
After eating the dinner prepared by An Xiaoru, Lin Tian returned to the study to continue researching elixir-making, and when the moon came out, began his cultivation.
Although Yun Hongxi’s feet no longer needed new elixirs, Lin Tian did not give up practicing. His journey as a pharmacist was just beginning, far from being a master pharmacist. Thinking about those advanced elixirs, Lin Tian couldn’t help but drool—they were precious things. This thought filled him with motivation.
In the following two days, apart from regular acupuncture for Mr. Yun, Lin Tian spent his time cultivating and researching elixir-making, occasionally chatting and bragging with Yun Xiaotian. With Sister not around, Lin Tian had no difficulty offering acupuncture alone.
On the third day, Lin Tian headed to the Yun Family’s private ground as usual, and as he entered the gate, the guards smiled at him amiably. Lin Tian, coming daily to offer acupuncture to Mr. Yun, was well recognized by the guards who knew Lin Tian was an honored guest, allowed to enter the private ground freely, and they were curious about Lin Tian’s identity.
Mr. Yun was waiting in the living room. When Lin Tian entered, he couldn’t help but smile. Although the last kinship test failed, Yun Hongxi had come to terms with it over the past few days. Whether Lin Tian was really Yun Tian or not, he had already treated Lin Tian as family.
"Mr. Yun, your energy is getting better and better. I was worried that you’d be upset by the failed kinship test." Lin Tian happily said.
"Hahaha, why would I be upset? If you’re not Yun Tian, heaven has given me another Lin Tian—what more could an old man want?" Yun Hongxi laughed heartily.
